Before You Build: Site Surveys

When you want to update your property, whether it’s your home or a completely new building, your first questions are likely what and where. You want a garage at the back of your property. That decision was made easy enough. Or, at least it seems to have been. But there might be more to that decision than meets the eye. A site survey can help with that.

What and where are the two most common first questions. Your municipality and builder have those exact same ones in mind. The style, size, and purpose of your build are all crucial when making a decision. And while your builder is more than willing to work with you on what you’d like, the zoning in your neighborhood might have a different say about it. Zoning that, unfortunately, is far from uniform. Believe it or not, it can even be different than your neighbor who just got work done a block away from you.

This is why a site survey is an incredibly valuable tool. A tool that reduces headaches and can prevent delays as you go forward. Having a general idea is great, but when you finish a site survey, you know what you can do with certainty. No hassles, no concerns. And when you know what you have to work with, you can make decisions with confidence. It’s the exact reason why site surveys are part of our standard of work; so that you can be just as confident in your decision as we are in our pole buildings.
